History is hidden in the brick and tile streets and alleys of Anqing. Students in Grades Seven and Eight stepped out of the classrooms to explore the historical sites of their hometown. Using cameras and brushes, they engaged in a dialogue with Anqing's history and presented a series of wonderful 'Experience Anqing Charm' works. Let's enjoy them together!
To be concrete, students transformed into little tour guides, visiting historical sites, revolutionary venues and museums in Anqing, who produced clear short videos of no more than three minutes to interpret the historical events, figures and relics of their hometown. With standard subtitles and vivid pictures, they brought the history of Anqing to life on the screen.
What's more, focusing on historical events in Anqing, students created comics using various methods such as hand-drawing and digital tablets. Both single-panel and multi-panel works were full of ingenuity, with bright colors and correct guidance. In the meantime, students captured historical moments with childlike strokes, transforming cold historical knowledge into vivid visual images.
To summarize, this 'Experience Anqing Charm' art exhibition enabled students to experience the historical heritage of Anqing through on-site exploration and creative practice, which not only enhanced their practical and creative abilities, but also deepened their cultural identification with their hometown and patriotic sentiments. More remarkably, it's hoped that teenagers will continue to be the explorers and inheritors of the history of their hometown, so that the marks of the ancient city can be passed down from generation to generation!
